Month-long awareness and fundraising initiative culminates with the “Be That Miracle!” Fundraiser on June 25 in Fayetteville, Georgia

 

FAYETTEVILLE, GA., June 1, 2026 — As families across the country continue facing rising food

costs, childcare challenges, educational instability, and emotional burnout, the aParent Miracles

Foundation has launched its “Month of Miracles” campaign, a month-long awareness and fundraising

initiative designed to spotlight and support single working parents navigating extraordinary pressures with

limited support systems.​

The campaign will culminate with the organization’s annual “Be That Miracle!” fundraiser on

Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the Daisy Hill venue in Fayetteville, Georgia, featuring entertainment by

R&B legend Glenn Jones and special guest host comedian, Jonathan Slocumb.​

Founded by attorney and CEO Melaine Williams, aParent Miracles Foundation provides direct

assistance, educational support, and “Miracle Moments” for single-parent families and students facing

financial hardship. The campaign arrives at a critical time as families enter the summer months — a

period when many parents lose access to the structure, meals, childcare support, and educational resources

schools often provide during the year, while simultaneously facing the added financial burden of summer

camps, childcare coverage, and increased household expenses.

“In this season, many families are carrying silent burdens people never see,”said Melaine Williams,

Founder and CEO of aParent Miracles Foundation. Single parents are making impossible decisions

every day between rent, food, childcare, transportation, summer care for their children, and simply trying

to keep their families encouraged and stable. The goal of Month of Miracles is to remind families they are

not alone and to remind communities that small acts of support can change the trajectory of someone’s

life.”

Williams understands the issue personally. Raised in a single-parent household after the loss of her father

at age five, she witnessed firsthand the emotional and financial strain her mother endured while raising

two children alone. Those experiences ultimately inspired the creation of the foundation and its mission to

support single working custodial parents “one miracle at a time.”

In 2025, the aParent Miracles Foundation assisted families and students through direct financial support

and in-kind assistance, raising more than $54,153 to support families across Georgia, New York, Ohio,

Virginia, Missouri, Louisiana, Texas, Washington, D.C., and Jamaica. Support extended to students attending institutions including Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Howard University,,

Waynesburg University, and the University of South Carolina.Through its partnership with the Atlanta

Black McDonald's Owner/Operators Association and the Wheels of Dream Foundation, aParent Miracle

Foundation has proudly supported students attending North Clayton High School, Clayton State

University, Georgia State University, and Georgia Southwestern State University, helping expand

educational opportunities and advance student success.

Throughout the Month of Miracles campaign, the organization will spotlight real stories of resilience,

community partnerships, educational support initiatives, and opportunities for the public to participate

through donations, sponsorships, volunteerism, and community engagement.

“This campaign is about more than one evening or one fundraiser,” Williams added.

“Miracles are needed all year long. Sometimes a miracle is helping a student remain enrolled in school. Sometimes it’s helping a parent keep the lights on, afford groceries, pay for summer camp, or simply feel seen during a difficult season. We want people to understand the real lives behind these stories.”

The “Be That Miracle!” fundraiser will honor four incoming honorary board members for their

outstanding leadership and impact: Joy Moore, Peabody Award-winning author and mother of Maryland Governor Wes Moore; Dr. Alduan Tartt, distinguished psychologist and nationally recognized relationship expert featured on outlets including CNN, HLN, NPR, BET, and Radio One; Alyssa Worrell, co-founder of Mothering With Intention, founder of Parenting Boot Camp, and sought-after speaker; and Dr. Toni Neal, award-winning podcaster and co-host of the Smitty and Dee Podcast.
